Did Someone Say iPhone?
Remember how rumors were flying around concerning the iPhone SE 2 — Complete with full CAD renders and models. Well it wasn’t announced last September, nor at this year’s March event. And about a month since Apple’s September event — and another disappointment to SE 2 hopefuls — Ming-Chi Kuo reported a possible release early next year. Two surprising facts though.
- The SE 2 was reported to launch with a very similar design to the iPhone 8. And not an all-screen display. Reasonable enough. But also;
- It would ship with the A13 Processor in the current iPhone 11 – Apple’s latest and greatest
- It would cost $399
The last two points actually had me do a double take. See, the iPhone 11’s are currently selling like Hot-Cakes. And Apple predicts sales would only go up from current demand. I love the idea of the iPhone SE 2, and it’s great it could be so cheap — And yet so powerful. I just can’t see how the 11 would fare in a market with a similarly spec’ed sibling at half it’s price. I know I won’t mind whatever other compromises they make to attain that retail figure. Or is that just what Apple wants…
